‘Surf’s Up’ at Ballwin Days parade; pancake breakfast debuts

The Ballwin Days Parade, a festival favorite since 1978, is set for Saturday, June 11. This year’s theme is “Surf’s Up,” so dig out the Hawaiian shirts and leis.

Ballwin Days is proud to have Louie Blues, the mascot of the St. Louis Blues, as its parade Grand Marshal this year. Other special guests include the first Miss Ballwin Days from 1978 and the Big Red Cheerleaders Alumni.

The parade steps off at 9 a.m. on Steamboat Lane adjacent to Ballwin Baptist Church, proceeds north to Kehrs Mill Road, then turns east into Vlasis Park and ends on Park Drive near the Ballwin police station. Parking for parade viewing will be available on the east side of the Target parking lot [no parking will be available at Bank of America next to the church].

To coincide with the parade, the first-ever Ballwin Days Pancake Breakfast also will be held on Saturday morning. The breakfast will be at Salem in Ballwin United Methodist Church, 14825 Manchester Road, from 7-11 a.m. Tickets may be purchased in advance at Ballwin Days on Friday, June 10 at the Committee Tent or at the door the morning of the event.

All proceeds will benefit Scout Venturing Crew 2783.  Be sure to stop by before or after the parade and enjoy a great breakfast for a great cause.
