Scout area offers activities for all

Picture69Once again this year, more than 100 young people representing Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venture Crews and Sea Scouts will host more than a dozen fun activities for visitors of all ages.

Located in the grassy area just west of the Wildwood Town Center, the Scout area features an encampment in addition to activities such as a tug-of-war, climbing wall, monkey bridge, sling shot challenge, water pressure rocket launches and a Rain Gutter Regatta in which guests build boats and race them down a gutter. A Lunchbox Derby – a one-of-a-kind race in which the vehicles are built out of fruits and vegetables – also is offered as are STEM demonstrations, a leather craft and a slack line activity.

“We invite people to come check out all the fun and learning we have to offer at Celebrate Wildwood,” said Ken McGohan, New Horizons District membership chair of the Boy Scouts of America St. Louis Area Council.
