To the Editor:
I really enjoyed Emil DeLuca’s letter titled “Healthcare Fix.” It would be much better than anything being suggested by our Congress. It is fair to all, simple to understand and covers all citizens.
One thing I would like to see is taking insurance companies totally out of the picture. Medicare can do the job without trying to turn a profit with our premiums. Every dollar would go for actual healthcare and the clerical staff needed to process the claims. No profit for people who have investments in insurance companies. As a person who believes in investing one’s money, I would just say, “choose another business.”
But I could easily compromise and go with Emil’s suggestion. At last, people would stop dying in the U.S. because of a lack of healthcare for all.
