Megan Krajewski of Lafayette High and Jasmine McComb of Marquette High, two local Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps [JROTC] cadets, recently received bronze medals from the Mary Hempstead Lisa chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution [DAR].
The DAR ROTC Bronze Medals are awarded to cadets of outstanding ability, dependability, good character, leadership abilities and adherence to military discipline. Cadets are nominated by their school aerospace science instructor.
JROTC Cadet Paul Robinson from Lafayette High was awarded the DAR Good Citizenship Award, certificate and pin, by the Mary Hempstead Lisa chapter Regent Gail Young. The DAR Good Citizenship Award is awarded to nominated high school students who demonstrate dependability, service, leadership and dependability.
The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote historic preservation, education and patriotism.
