Don’t miss Manchester Homecoming in Paul A. Schroeder Park, Sept. 8-10

It’s that time of the year again – time for one of West County’s favorite hometown events – the annual Manchester Homecoming celebration. This three-day event offers something for patrons of all ages from carnival rides to live music to a parade of pirates and so much more!

Griffin and the Gargoyles

Live Music

Visitors to the weekend festivities will find great musical entertainment.

On Friday night beginning at 7:30 p.m., Manchester Homecoming welcomes Griffin & The Gargoyles, voted St. Louis’ best cover band. Then, on Saturday at 3:45 p.m., The Jumbo Shrimp Band will perform a tropical mix of reggae, Mardi Gras and beach music. Dr. Zhivegas, a multimedia nonstop dance and rock show, is the headliner on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. Then, on Sunday at 2:15 p.m., the entertainment continues with Water Taxi’s classic rock, folk and Americana blend.

Doggie Paddle Party

Owners and their dogs can cool off and enjoy the Aquatic Center on Saturday, Sept. 9 and Sunday, Sept. 10 from 1-4 p.m. on both days.

Dogs can paddle, swim, run and play at their leisure. Owners must provide complete vaccination records including: distemper, bordetella and rabies and pick up after their pets.
Per the city’s pet ordinance, dangerous animals must be muzzled.

Admission is $11 per dog [includes one owner]. Admission is limited to two dogs per owner; additional family members are welcome at a cost of  $3 per each additional person.

Arts & Crafts Fair

The Arts & Crafts Fair features only handmade items. Guests can shop for specially crafted goods on Saturday from noon-8 p.m. and Sunday from noon-5 p.m.

Free Shuttle Bus Service

The shuttle runs on a 7-minute loop from The Journey Church and Community Christian Church to the park entrance on Old Meramec Station Road.

Jack’s Kids Korner

Jacks’ Kids Corner provides free crafts and activities for kids, including a petting zoo! Parental supervision is required. Kids Corner is located in Pavilion #1, between the pool and playground. Sponsored by The Goddard School and Callier’s Catering & Deli.

Public Parking

Enter from Sulphur Spring Road at St. Joseph Lane and park on the ball fields. Overflow parking and off-site parking will be at The Journey Church, 625 Meramec Station Road and Community Christian Church, 623 Meramec Station Road.
