Manchester alderman becomes certified municipal official

Mayor Willson acknowledged Alderman Marilyn Ottenad with her Certified Municipal Official Award which she received from the Missouri Municipal League.

At the regular city of Manchester Board of Aldermen meeting on Sept. 18, Alderman Marilyn Ottenad [Ward 2] received public congratulations from Mayor Dave Willson for the Certified Municipal Official Award she received from the Missouri Municipal League.

To become a Missouri Municipal League certified municipal official, participants must complete 12 hours of study in core areas and four hours of elective training. The core requirements are: budgets; economic development; emergency management; fundamentals of municipal government; parliamentary procedures; planning and zoning; revenue sources; ethics; liability and risk; personnel law; public works contracting, and Sunshine Law. The four elective hours are as approved by the Municipal Governance Institute.
