The Eureka Scarecrow Festival runs now through Tuesday, Oct. 31. The city of Eureka comes alive with the invasion of scarecrows during the month of October as they are set up all over town. Join in the hunt for the best scarecrow. Vote for your favorite at eurekascarecrowfestival.com. The deadline to vote is Saturday, Oct. 28. The winner is announced on Halloween.

The Boone’s Crossing Pumpkin Patch is open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday at 17057 North Outer 40 Drive in Chesterfield [Boone’s Crossing exit next to Taubman Prestige Outlets]. Enjoy pumpkins, local produce, cider, the Country Bumpkin Field of Fun, hay rides, pony rides, a petting zoo, live entertainment, beer, wine, food and more.

Brookdale Farms’ Corn Maze is open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. weekly from Thursday-Sunday at 8004 Twin Rivers Road in Eureka. Enjoy the area’s largest maze, a pumpkin patch, petting zoo, children’s zip line, bounce houses, cow train, hay rides, Sunday live music and more. Admission is $5 per child. The Booterfly House is from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday during the month of October at The Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House in Faust Park, 15193 Olive Blvd. in Chesterfield. Meet new frightful friends in the Scorpion’s Lair, watch out for Botanicals Gone Mad in the Conservatory and spy on spectacular spiders with Little Miss Muffet. Yappy Howl-o-ween is from 4-6:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 20 at Eberwein Dog Park, 1627 Old Baxter Road in Chesterfield. Participants should be sure to dress up their dogs for photos and Treats Unleashed will have a delicious treat truck available. Dog tags must be on the collar for dog park members. Non-members must bring recent vaccination records. No dogs under 4 months. All dogs must be spayed or neutered. RSVP to (636) 812-9500 by Wed., Oct. 18.

Howl & Prowl: A Free Night of Family Fun is from 4-9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 20 at St. Louis Community College-Wildwood, 2645 Generations Drive. Games, prizes, spooky stories, a costume parade and open mic performances. Refreshments are served.

Halloween Festival is from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 20 at Schroeder Park, 359 Old Meramec Station Road in Ballwin. Dress the kids in their non-scary costumes and bring them to the park. Events include a hayride, games, candy, pumpkin contest, kid and dog costume contests and hay searches. Wristbands must be purchased in advance and are $5 for residents and $6 for non-residents. Everyone ages 2 and up needs a wristband. Details are available at manchestermo.gov.

Trick-or-Treat Spooktacular is from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21 at Taubman Prestige Outlets, 17057 N. Outer 40 Road in Chesterfield. The event features trick-or-treating, airbrush tattoos, balloon art, pumpkin carvings and more. Meet at the Brooks Brothers entrance. First 500 ghouls and goblins age 12 and under receive a reusable trick-or-treat bag. Details at taubmanprestigeoutlets.com.

The Whole Foods Kids Club’s Annual Halloween Trick-or-Treat is from 4-6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21 at the Whole Foods Market in Town & Country, 1160 Town and Country Crossing Drive. The event is free. Reservations are not required. There is a costume contests for three age groups: under 3, 4-6 and 7-12. Judges score decorated pumpkins from each department.

The Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce Pumpkin Run is from 8-10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21 at Chesterfield Town Centre, 161 Long Road in Chesterfield. The 5K and 10K runs are out and back courses. The Chamber also hosts a half-mile Children’s Fun Run for ages 10 and under. Costumes are encouraged for kids and adults alike. Applications are available at fleetfeetstlouis.com.

Reality House at Central Baptist Church, 601 N. Central Ave. in Eureka, is open from 7-10 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25 and Thursday, Oct. 26; and from 7-11 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27 and Saturday, Oct. 28. Reality House is a free event that has been challenging people for decades, allowing guests to travel through a series of events including the “reality” of real life-and-death choices people face in their lives. Canned food donations for the food pantry will be accepted. Children below the sixth grade level may not feel comfortable. For more information, call (636) 938-5577.

Little Goblins Trick or Treat is from 10-11:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 27 at The Pointe at Ballwin Commons, 1 Ballwin Commons Circle. Children ages 1-5 will have a spooky scavenger hunt, decorate pumpkins, go trick-or-treating around The Pointe, play games and have a healthy snack. Parent participation is required.

Halloween Skate is from 2:30-4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28 at Creve Coeur Ice Arena, 11400 Olde Cabin Road. Kids can wear their costumes for fun treats [no weapons or masks]. For details, visit creve-coeur.org.

Brookdale Farms’ Witches Night Out is from 4-10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 8004 Twin Rivers Road in Eureka. Women 21 years and older are invited to dress in their favorite witch costumes and enjoy an evening of music, dancing, food, shopping, door prizes and more. Heels are not recommended on the grass. Good Shepherd Lutheran Church’s Trunk-or-Treat is from 6:30-8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 327 Woods Mill Road in Manchester. Games and activities will be in the lower level gym beginning at 6:30 p.m. At 7:15 p.m., the kids will parade outside to trick or treat in the parking lot. Everyone is invited to decorate their cars and bring treats to hand out.

Pumpkin Patch Fundraiser is open now through Oct. 31 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 327 Woods Mill Road in Manchester. Hours are 11 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday-Friday; 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturdays; and 12-6 p.m. on Sundays. There will be pumpkins of all sizes and shapes for sale as well as gourds and mums. Halloween Candy Exchange is from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at The Lodge Des Peres, 1050 Des Peres Road. Bring one pound of candy to The Lodge in exchange for one youth admission to enjoy The Lodge pool or gymnasium at a later time. Child must be accompanied by an adult for the candy exchange. Limit one pass per youth. Passes must be used by May 1, 2018.

A Moonlight Howl 5K is at 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3 at The Wolf Café, 15480 Clayton Road in Ballwin. Runners get a flashing light and follow glow sticks to the finish. Entertainment and drinks to follow. Ages 7 and up. For details, visit ballwin.mo.us.
