Randy Blount, West County resident and owner of  Rent to Own Auto Centers, crossed an item off his “bucket list” last month when he recorded a country music CD “Hank & Nem” by The Dirk Wayne Band, in Nashville with “absolutely A-list artists.” Available on Spotify, iTunes and for purchase online at cdbaby.com by searching The Dirk Wayne Band. Blount is donating his proceeds to The Breast Cancer Foundation.

William Edwards Jr. has been promoted to executive vice president and chief information officer at Midwest BankCentre. He also joins the bank’s executive management committee. He is a board member of Encore Building Solutions and on the advisory board of Covenant Technology Partners.

Brian Quinn, of Quinn Estate & Elder Law, recently was named president-elect of the Missouri Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys [MONAELA]. Quinn already is a vice chair of the Elder Law Committee for The Missouri Bar and a board member of MONAELA.

St. Luke’s Hospital continuing medical education [CME] program has earned its second accreditation with commendation from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, meaning that St. Luke’s has received a six-year accreditation [the maximum possible] and is among the top 25 percent of CME providers in the United States. St. Luke’s was cited for achievement in two important areas: CME that served to generate improvements in the professional practice of its physicians; and CME that was fundamentally planned to improve quality of care and patient safety.

The Gatesworth senior living community recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of its new three-story, 102,000-square-foot McKnight Place Assisted Living building expansion. Featuring 90 upscale apartment homes, the building debuts with an 80-percent occupancy rate. It will create an additional 90-100 jobs on The Gatesworth campus.

The Eye Care Charity of Mid-America [ECCOMA] recently announced a partnership with The Berges Family Foundation, a local nonprofit, which allowed the charity to purchase a new state-of-the-art mobile vision clinic, complete with a pretest area, two fully equipped optometric exam lanes, optical dispensary and finishing lab that can support 30 exams in four hours. Located in Chesterfield, ECCOMA was founded in 2004 by Bill Jehling, a top executive in the eye care industry. Since it was established, 8,767 eye exams have been conducted and 8,118 pairs of eyeglasses issued. During the first 10 months of 2017, ECCOMA delivered 2,011 pairs of glasses to children at 101 schools across the St. Louis region.
