Air Force JROTC on top of their game

Four drill teams representing the Missouri 81st Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps [AFJROTC] from Lafayette High traveled to Daytona Beach to showcase their skills at the Lake Worth High School Invitational Drill Meet.

The teams consisted of the regulation drill team, the exhibition drill team and two color guard teams [exhibition and regulation]. This year, the teams came home with two third-place trophies and six first-place trophies.

Emily Gauvreau was awarded best overall commander. She oversees the regulation and 30-command teams. The other first-place awards included Regulation Color Guard, Inspection; Regulation Color Guard, Performance; Regulation Drill Team, Inspection; Exhibition, Performance; and 30-Command, Performance. The third-place awards were Regulation Drill Team, Performance and 30-Command, Inspection.

Other commanders include Andrew Teague, who commands the exhibition team and Nick Gauvreau who commands the color guard. Senior Master Sgt. Dave Cugier is the instructor in charge of drill and Don Gauvreau coaches the color guard team.
