Teams assigned for groups in Midstates Club Hockey Association’s postseason tournaments

The Midstates Club Hockey Association postseason tournament brackets and schedules have been released.

There are 12 teams in the Challenge Cup. The Blue Conference and Red Conference are again divided into two divisions with three teams each.

The Blue Conference Group A has No. 1 St. Louis University High, No. 8 Priory and No. 9 Oakville. Group B has No. 4 Vianney, No. 5 Kirkwood and No. 12 MICDS.

The Red Conference Group A has No. 3 De Smet, No. 6 Marquette and No. 11 Ladue. Group B has No. 2 CBC, No. 7 Chaminade and No. 10 Edwardsville.

Each team in Conference Blue Division A plays each team in Conference Blue Division B once. The four top teams in this competition move on to the quarterfinals. Each team in Conference Red, Division A plays each team in Conference Red, Division B once, the four top teams in this competition move on to the quarterfinals.

The Wickenheiser Cup has a three-game, round robin format with four teams in four divisions. Each team in each division plays the other three teams in that division once. The two top teams in each division as determined by this competition move onto the quarterfFinals.

Teams in Division A are No. 1 Duchesne, No. 8 Parkway West, No. 9 Parkway South and No. 16 Northwest. Teams in Divsion B are No. 2 Summit, No. 7 Francis Howell, No. 10 Fort Zumwalt East and No. 15 Webster Groves. Teams in Division 3 are No. 3 Lafayette, No. 6 Francis Howell Central, No. 11 Fort Zumwalt South and No. 14 Clayton. Teams in Group D are No. 4 Seckman, No. 5 Fox, No. 12 Lindbergh and No. 13 Westminster Christian Academy

There will be nine teams playing in the Founder Cup tournament. They are 1. Timberland, 2. Holt, 3. Fort Zumwalt West, 4. Lutheran South, 5. Eureka, 6. John Burroughs, 7. O’Fallon, No. 8 Francis Howell North and No. 9 St. Mary’s.

St. Mary’s meets Francis Howell North at 9 p.m. Friday (Feb. 1) at Brentwood in a play-in game. The winner will play Timberland at time and date to be determined. In another first-round game, Eureka plays Francis Howell North. The winner of that game will play whoever emerges from the Timberland game for a two-game series.

John Burroughs will play Fort Zumwalt West and O’Fallon will play Westminster. The winners of those game will then play in a two-game series.
