Capital projects set in Chesterfield

The city of Chesterfield will spend some $2.5 million on four capital projects in upcoming months. Contracts for the work received approval at the City Council’s March 4 meeting.

Structural repairs on the city’s equipment storage building and material storage building are needed before roofing is replaced on the structures, according to City Administrator Mike Geisel. Total Building Solutions, of Sullivan, submitted the low bid for the work with a price not to exceed $90,000.

Roof replacement will be delayed until next year.

Three street slab replacement projects will cost more than $2.4 million, according to contracts awarded to the low bidders on the work.

Amcon Municipal Concrete, of O’Fallon, had the winning proposal on one of the three with a price not to exceed $1.1 million. Streets involved include Century Lake Drive, Valley Branch Drive, Cedarmill Drive, Silverlake Court, Heather Crest Drive, High Valley Drive, Spring Valley Court, Glen Cove Drive and Glen Hollow Drive.

Low bidder on a second project was J. M. Marscheutz Construction, of Eureka, with a price not to exceed $1.05 million. Streets included are Amherst Way, Amherst Green Court, Conway Oaks Drive, Conway Glen Court, Eldon Ridge Court, Terrimill Terrace, Wheatley Court, Morganfield Court and Whethersfield Terrace Court.

Maraschuetz also was the low bidder on the third project, which involves scattered and smaller numbers of slabs in numerous locations. The price is not to exceed $300,000.

Money for all of the work comes from the city’s capital projects fund.
