Town & Country to move forward with public works department audit

An ordinance was introduced at the regular Town & Country Board of Aldermen meeting on Monday, March 11 that would authorize the city to enter into an agreement with Management Partners, Inc. for professional auditing services of the city’s Planning & Public Works department.

The audit was approved in February, and the city administrator was authorized to solicit bids. Six proposals were received prior to the February deadline, and Management Partners, Inc. was deemed to be the company most experienced with local government audits.

The original budget for the audit was slated for $12,500, but the actual cost to the city will be $35,550, an increase of $23,050 that will be appropriated from the general fund. A final vote authorizing the contract between the city and Management Partners, Inc. will take place on March 25.
