Albert Awards recognizes new teachers in Parkway

By: Bonnie Krueger

The 17 nominees of the Albert Award, sponsored by the Parkway Alumni Association, have been recognized for excellence during each’s first through fifth years as Parkway teachers. Each year, one teacher at each level—elementary, middle and high school—is awarded based on energy and enthusiasm with students as well as creative and innovative practices in the classroom. This year’s recipients include Clarissa Crandall of Ross Elementary, Eli Phillips of South Middle and Taylor Rose of West High.

The Albert Award is named in honor of the late Al Burr, a teacher, coach and long-distinguished principal in Parkway. It is funded by the Alumni Association’s Educators Make A Difference Fund.
