Lucky for St. Louisans, as spring begins to warm the weather and heat up frozen ground, local golf courses will return to their iconic state of lush greenness. Even better, there is a plethora of local options for enthusiasts of all skill levels to choose from. St. Louis is filled with scenic, sprawling courses and club grounds that present a variety of unique challenges, settings, terrain options and sizes. From public courses to private country clubs, there’s no excuse for players not to jump in the golf cart and go exploring with friends and family.

Below is a list of favorite area courses to help you get started.

Many courses and clubs use dynamic pricing, meaning that rates can fluctuate for different courses depending on the day or other special events. Some courses may provide reduced rates to junior or senior golfers, twilight rates or other discount offers. The host of the 2018 USGA Senior Amateur Qualifying tournament plays up to 3,433 yards and as short as 2,603 yards. Four Seasons, which opened in 1962, is a hidden nine-hole gem located a block south of Olive Boulevard and a block west of Woods Mill Road. This walkable course is challenging for all skill levels, with some of the trickiest tee shots in the area. Memberships are available with several men’s and women’s leagues to join.
