Chesterfield recognizes student, staff members

The city of Chesterfield issued proclamations May 6 recognizing its city clerk, members of its public works department and a seventh-grade student at Crestview Middle School.

For the third year in a row, Alice Liu won the St. Louis area spelling bee in March and will compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington later this month. Acknowledging her achievements, Mayor Bob Nation read a proclamation naming May 6 in her honor.

Chesterfield City Clerk Vickie Hass also received a proclamation recognizing her continuing education as a Missouri registered city clerk. The honor came from the Missouri City Clerks and Finance Officers Association.

A third proclamation recognized the city’s public works department employees in connection with the National Public Works Week, which takes place May 19-25.
