Building connection through dance

Christine DeHart, owner

Dancing at any age has great benefits. Studies have proven dance to be a major benefit to aging well.

That’s the philosophy of Christine DeHart, longtime dance instructor and owner of Dancing Thru Life, the Ballwin studio offering adults-only tap, jazz and ballet classes. In its 12 years of business, Dancing Thru Life has continued to offer an array of classes to adult dancers of all ages, with 125 students ranging in age from 21 to 83.

“We have everyone, from true beginners to former dance professionals,” Christine said.

Classes are offered at every level, from beginner to advanced-plus. Ballet and jazz are taught in combination classes, with a few jazz classes taught separately. Tap is taught in a variety of styles, including Broadway and rhythm.

Throughout the nine-month [Sept. – May] and summer programs, technique and dance combinations are taught and students progress according to ability.

“Because of the warm and welcoming nature of the dancers, many friendships also abound at the studio,” Christine said. “They come for the benefits to their overall health and well-being and because they love to dance.”

Both daytime and evening classes are available. A fall schedule will be posted by August 1 on the website. Enroll now by emailing the studio at dancingthrulife@att.net or by calling Christine at (636) 391-5678. The phone number is easy to remember – like the start of a dance routine, just say, “5, 6, 7, 8!”
