Manchester Homecoming takes over Schroeder Park

Live Music
Rockin’ Chair hits the stage from 7:30-10:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6. The group is a reunion of members from regional bands that brings classic rock favorites from the 60s and 70s back to the stage for audiences across St. Louis. Both classic and new fans will appreciate the live vocals and instrumentations, all delivered authentically.

On Saturday, Sept. 7, Chris Cahill will perform from 3:45-5:15 p.m. Also known as the “The Human Jukebox,” Cahill covers a wide array of tracks from bands like The Beatles, Johnny Cash, The Who, Radiohead, Bob Dylan and even Britney Spears. Chris also has a set of original tracks with catchy melodies and thoughtful lyrics the whole family can enjoy.

Sponsored by Ben Toben and Cornerstone Wealth Management, Dr. Zhivegas, a party band widely known for its popular dance and rock acts, will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and finish out the night. The band returns from the 2018 festival due to popular demand.

Local family band Zelles will provide entertainment from 2:15-4:45 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8.

Doggie Pool Paddle
Bring your pup for a dip in the Manchester Swimmin’ Hole [Manchester Aquatic Facility, 359 Old Meramec Station Road] from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7 and Sunday, Sept. 8. The Doggie Paddle costs $11 for up to two dogs and one person, and $3 for each additional person. Pet owners must bring current vaccination records [Distemper, Bordetella and Rabies]. Per city ordinance, dangerous or aggressive animals must be muzzled.

Homecoming Parade
Soar on over to the fun at this year’s Manchester Homecoming Parade, themed “Superheroes!”
Unlike previous years, the new parade start time for 2019 is 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7.

The parade will begin at The Journey Church, 625 N. Meramec Station Road and will travel through the streets of Manchester ending at Parkway Southwest Middle, 701 Wren Ave.

The route is approximately two miles long and features appearances by the Manchester Police Department, West County Fire, Metro West Fire, city vehicles, classic cars, local schools, bands and more. For more information or to fill out a parade entry application, visit manchestermo.gov/homecoming.

Jack’s Kids Corner
Jack’s Kids Corner, sponsored by The Goddard School, is open from noon-4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7 and Sunday, Sept. 8 with fun and free activities for kids of all ages. Don’t miss out on the petting zoo, entertainment, Home Depot building projects and much more.

Annual Car Show
Break out the car wax and rev your engines! The impressive Manchester Car Show, sponsored by Auto Trim Restyling and Worldwide Car & Collision Service, returns for 2019. The family-friendly show takes place from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7; registration takes place before the event from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. for a $15 registration fee. Awards for Best Car, Best Paint, Best Engine, Best Interior and People’s Choice will be handed out.

Parking
Weather permitting, parking will be available at Schroeder Park on the soccer field and back lot, which can be accessed via St. Joseph’s Lane. There is also parking available at The Journey Church or West Community Christian Church with a free shuttle.

Free Shuttle Service
The shuttle runs on a 7-minute loop from The Journey Church or the West Community Christian Church to the park entrance on Old Meramec Station Road.
