Tim Gregowicz has been named the new director of public works in the city of Town & Country.
Most recently, Gregowicz was chief municipal engineer for the city of Belleville, Illinois. He held that post for the last 12 years.
Gregowicz, who begins his employment with Town & Country on Sept. 16, has a civil engineering degree from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. He is in the process of having his reciprocal Illinois professional engineer registration recognized in Missouri.
Late last year, in a memo to Mayor Jon Dalton, fellow aldermen and City Attorney Steve Garrett, alderman Matt Reuter [Ward 3] recommended that the organizational structure of the planning and public works department be reviewed. A few years ago, the public works and planning & zoning departments were combined. Typically, these are distinct departments governed by different directors; however, former Planning & Public Works Director Craig Wilde presided over both departments.
When Wilde resigned his position in January of this year, the city restructured that position, again separating the departments. As such, Ryan Spencer will continue in the role of city planner, reporting to City Administrator Bob Shelton, while Gregowicz directs the city’s public works department.
