Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School received a lead-gift commitment of $1 million to the school’s Honoring Our Legacy Initiative. The pledge is one of the single largest gift commitments in the school’s 90-year history.
“Through our twelve-year association with the school, we’ve never been so impressed with nor had as much faith in the leadership team in place, guided by [Head of School] Michael Baber,” the donor, an anonymous parent of children who have graduated from the school, said. “We are thrilled to give back and help propel the gift of a Sacred Heart education into the forefront of conversations.”
The $1 million lead-gift commitment to the school was also a challenge to the community to join the Honoring Our Legacy Initiative, which strives to endow the English and mathematics departments as part of the school’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence. Additional gifts received in response to the challenge will also go toward the Honoring Our Legacy Initiative.
“The Board of Trustees is grateful to this generous family for their commitment to the future of Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School,” Board Chair J. Spencer Finney said. “We look forward to more families joining this challenge.”
