OsteoStrong-Ballwin, 110 Holloway Road, celebrated its first anniversary on Aug. 15. Owner Jaime Zografos opened the Ballwin location in 2018 after owning a real estate appraisal firm for 20 years. Her second location in Sunset Hills is now open, and a third location in Wildwood is coming soon. OsteoStrong is known for its use of musculoskeletal treatment devices to help strengthen bones and improve fitness and promote whole-body wellness. The newest location of Sauce on the Side is now open at 1314 Big Bend Road in Twin Oaks. Sauce on the Side is a fast, casual restaurant specializing in gourmet calzones. The restaurant also offers fresh salads, desserts, beer and wine. With an existing restaurant in Chesterfield, this is its second West County location.

The Superslow Zone studio opened in Ballwin at 15421 Clayton Road. It is a personal wellness and exercise studio that caters to clients as young as 12. At the heart of the service is a 20-minute results-focused, full body workout that is guided by a professional, accredited, certified personal trainer.

Friendship Village resident Leroy Amen and his family recently donated $300,000 to launch the fundraising campaign for a new $1.4 million chapel at Friendship Village’s senior living community in Chesterfield. Construction at the Chesterfield campus will bring new amenities to the community, including expanded dining rooms and outdoor activity spaces, new apartments, and assisted living and skilled nursing care facilities. Amen made the donation in tribute to his late wife, Dr. Virginia “Ginny” Leibner-Amen. Additionally, Friendship Village Chesterfield Skilled Nursing has been named one of America’s Best for Extended Care by the Women’s Choice Award. The award designates them as one of approximately 1,000 extended care facilities of over 15,000 across the nation.


Navdeep Batra is the new owner of Sylvan Learning of Ballwin. Batra previously spent years as a high school math, finance and business teacher before moving into IT. Batra combined her knowledge of business and finances to open the new Sylvan Learning facility when an ownership opportunity for the location became available.

West County Spine & Joint owner and clinic director Dr. Lauren Hendrix and her husband, Dr. Matthew Davidson.

West County Spine & Joint announced the addition of Dr. Matthew Davidson to the practice. Davidson received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan University. Davidson is a holistic practitioner, educator and guide that empowers wellness through active lifestyle choices. Davidson will begin accepting patients on Oct. 25 at the practice’s Ellisville location, 355 Ozark Trail Drive, Ste. 9.

Murphy Company, a mechanical contracting and engineering firm in the commercial, industrial and institutional markets, has named Jim Coats as HVAC/refrigeration project manager and Nicholas M. Kniesche as project manager. Coats has nearly 25 years of experience in the HVAC industry, most recently as president of his own consulting and manufacturers’ representative firm, Coapico Technologies, Inc. since 2011. A 2017 graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia, Kniesche joined Murphy as a project management summer intern in 2015 and 2016. After graduation he was hired full-time as an engineer on the commercial side.
