Carman Trails Elementary earned over $13,000 through the Fun Run organized by the school’s PTO. Danette Ward Johnson Baker’s kindergarten class showed off their Cougar Pride by raising the most money.

The PTO has a two-phase action plan to use that money and other reserves for upgrades to the school’s playground. The approval of phase one includes a GaGa ball pit, picnic table, two trash cans and a shade guard.

According to gagacenter.com, GaGa Ball is: “A fast paced, high energy sport played in an octagonal pit. Dubbed a kinder, gentler version of dodge ball, the game is played with a soft foam ball, and combines the skills of dodging, striking, running and jumping while trying to hit opponents with a ball below the knees.”

At this time, phase two has not been decided.
