A group of music educators from the Rockwood and Parkway school districts got the opportunity to play alongside St. Louis Symphony Orchestra [SLSO] musicians at the Extra Credit Concert Friday, Oct. 4, at Powell Hall in downtown St. Louis. The six Parkway music educators playing under SLSO conductor Gemma New included Kristy Woods, Linda Rekas, Blake Hernton, Lucy Arbini, Alicia Bont and Adam Rodgers. The seven Rockwood educators included Kyle Alexander, Emilee Kellermann, Hanna Kroeger, Jason Long, John Menner, Steve Patton and Kevin Smith.

The event was designed to celebrate educators who teach music in the community with a side-by-side concert experience. In total, 90 educators across Missouri and Illinois were selected to participate in the free concert at Powell Hall.
