The city of Wildwood was recently ranked at the top of the list of best places to raise a family in Missouri in 2019 by Niche.com, a review site that provides nationwide rankings based on U.S. schools and neighborhood data.
Giving Wildwood an “A+” overall, Niche.com ranked the city according to a variety of factors such as quality of schools, business and employment growth, family income, housing and crime rates. Wildwood’s parks also played a big role in its top ranking.
“This achievement is all thanks to Wildwood residents and business owners, who help make this community a great place to live, work and play,” Mayor Jim Bowlin said. “It’s great for us to be recognized as the best place to raise a family – not just in the St. Louis region, but statewide.”
In addition to its top Missouri family-friendliness ranking, Wildwood achieved 10th place for best places to live in Missouri and 29th as the best place to raise a family in the United States.
Wildwood was also praised for its schools; for 2019, Wildwood was ranked fifth for best public schools in Missouri. Along with various private institutions, the Rockwood School District ranked near the top of the list for Missouri schools in a 2020 ranking also powered by Niche.com.
The site calculates its rankings by analyzing dozens of public data sets and over 100 million reviews and survey responses. Up-to-date data is supplied by sources like the U.S. Department of Education, the U.S. Census Bureau and the FBI.
