Filing for the April 7 election of the St. Louis Community College Board of Trustees Subdistrict 4 seat opens at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17. The seat is currently held by Eleftheria “Libby” Fitzgerald, who has served two terms on the board.
Subdistrict 4 includes the school districts of Parkway, Lindbergh, Mehlville, Rockwood, Valley Park, Meramec Valley, Hancock Place and small portions of Jefferson and Franklin counties.
St. Louis Community College is governed by six elected board members, each serving six-year terms, who represent the four subdistricts of the college service area and one appointed board member.
Filing for the seat closes at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21
Individuals seeking the seat must be at least 21 years of age and a resident voter of Subdistrict 4 for at least one year before the April 7 election.
Declarations of candidacy and a description of each subdistrict are available now in the associate for board relations office at Corporate College, 3221 McKelvey Road, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday, with the exception of Dec. 24 through Jan. 2. Each declaration of candidacy must be notarized before it is returned to the office of the associate for board relations.
Candidates who file on Dec. 17 [before 4 p.m.] will be entered into a lottery to determine ballot placement; all other applicants [filing Dec. 18-Jan. 21] will be listed on the ballot in order of filing.
