Giving back: Raising Cane’s pays employees to make masks for the community

On May 18, crew members from Raising Cane’s donated 1,000 hand-made, 3-ply cloth masks to Delmar Gardens.

The masks were made by Raising Cane’s employees many of whom found themselves short on work hours while the restaurant’s dining rooms were closed.

“I haven’t ever sewn before but I’m a quick learner and I love being able to do this for my community,” said Raising Cane’s general manager Rachael Morgan.

The crew members were paid to produce the masks, working in block-schedule shifts in adherence with the company’s social distancing procedures.

“We are grateful to have been chosen as the recipient of these handmade masks,” said Patricia Muich, Delmar Gardens director of marketing and advertising. “We admire the resourcefulness of Raising Cane’s to keep their staff employed on this project. The Delmar Gardens Family shares the same commitment to our dedicated staff to assure continuous employment during this unprecedented time.”
