Local illustrators published

Three area students had their illustrations selected for publication in Grannie Annie, Vol. 15, soon to be released by The Grannie Annie Family Story Celebration [thegrannieannie.org].

Carissa Mitchell, a rising eighth grader at Living Water Academy in Wildwood, illustrated the story “Ridge on the Bridge.” This is the second consecutive year that Mitchell has had an illustration published by The Grannie Annie.

The other two published artists from West St. Louis County created their illustrations in a class at Art Unleashed, a Chesterfield nonprofit. The two students chose to illustrate the same story – “The Pawfect Dog Walker.” Rising sixth grader Sophia Fernandez drew the illustration that appears in the story. Rising seventh grader Katie Richardson drew the illustration that appears on the book’s cover
