The Rockwood is an established independent senior community in Old Webster Groves. The brick building, which is on the historic register, glorifies the 1920’s era with its hardwood floors, six-foot-tall windows, beautiful millwork, spacious rooms and a two-tiered lush garden. All 29 apartments feature stainless-steel appliances, designer cabinetry and quartz countertops alongside modern comforts like dishwashers and washer and dryer hook-ups.
The Rockwood offers an all-inclusive list of services and amenities such as 24 hour concierge availability, resident well checks, meals, cable, utilities, housekeeping, Wi-Fi, phone and free personal transportation for doctor appointments and errands. Added to this are weekly exercise classes taught by professionals. The weekly activity program provides trips each Friday, crafts, learning seminars and classes, game nights, gardening, live music and more.
Residents can also access their “supportive services program” when needed, which aids in tasks such a bathing, dressing and medication management to help the resident live longer and more comfortably in an independent setting.
Further, residents enjoy tasty, varied, and healthy menus which change weekly. The meals offered are an extended continental breakfast, four-course dinners with wine, Saturday social hour meal and Sunday brunch.
Since the acquisition of The Rockwood in 2006, it has been locally owned and operated by St. Louis residents, Ron and Ellen Lauber and Russ and Brenda Lauer. This local hands-on leadership helps reinforce a high measure of quality and dedication that the residents have come to expect and love. Executive director Eric Kuenkler interacts day-to-day with the residents and his dedicated staff.
With a more intimate setting, The Rockwood offers its residents superior service and personal support that many larger communities cannot provide. Do not wait to join The Rockwood family. Call (314) 963-0029 and ask for Eric or Debra.
