The Fabulous Fox Theatre will broadcast its 10th Annual St. Louis Teen Talent Competition, produced by the Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation, on Nine PBS at 8 p.m. on Aug. 10.
Finalists include a variety of singers, musicians, dancers, aerialists and a juggler.
This year, the list of local finalists includes Lizzy Crowe, of Westminster Christian Academy, dance-ballet; Ryan Egan, of Parkway West High, vocalist/guitarist; and Alexander Scheman, of Lafayette High, guitarist for the band Tenpenny Tower.
The acts were directed by Tony Parise, a Broadway actor, dancer, director, choreographer and St. Louis native.
This year’s judges are Audrey Kwong (Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra), Antonio Douthit-Boyd (Center of Creative Arts), Carl Nappa (Grammy-nominated executive music producer), Taylor Louderman (2018 Tony nominee); Ken Page (actor, director and singer); and Denise Thimes (jazz vocalist and recording artist). Students will be judged on technical ability, stage presence, interpretation, and originality.
The top three winners will be announced on Nine PBS at the conclusion of the program. Following the broadcast, an online celebration will take place on foxpacf.org and will feature additional prizes and scholarships, including voting for the $1,000 cash prize for the Audience Choice Award.
The final round of the competition was originally scheduled to be performed in front of a live audience in April, but it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic
