MICDS eighth-grader Amisha Poojari was recently honored as one of the brightest young students in the world by the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth.micds
Poojari received the award for her high achievement on a national assessment, such as the SAT or ACT, which was taken as part of the Center for Talented Youth’s Talent Search. The center uses above-grade-level testing to identify advanced students from around the world and provide a clear picture of their true academic abilities.
Poojari was one of more than 16,000 students who tested in the 2019-20 Talent Search year from 66 different countries. Less than half of Talent Search testers qualify for the center’s High Honors Awards. Honorees also qualified for the center’s summer and online programs, through which students can form a community of engaged learners with other bright students from around the world.
