Helping hands this holiday season

This holiday season, students from across West County banded together to participate in – or start their own – school initiatives to help those in need.

Inspired by a fellow student who created a successful food drive, Asher of McKelvey Elementary ran with the idea and spearheaded his own toy drive this holiday season. The toys benefitted children at the St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

Also helping others in need, Kirk Day School collected items during the Season of Service Drive, which will be donated to Loaves & Fishes, a food pantry and homeless shelter located in Maryland Heights. Their mission is to serve those who have been struck by economic hardships, by providing them with resources and support to help them realize self-sufficiency.
