Teachers awarded for excellence

More than 100 local educators were recognized by Emerson’s 31st annual Excellence in Teaching Awards program. The award recognizes classroom instructors, selected by their schools’ administrators, for their accomplishments and dedication to their students and the teaching profession.

More than 100 local educators were recently recognized through Emerson’s 31st annual Excellence in Teaching Awards program. The award recognizes classroom instructors, selected by their schools’ administrators, for their accomplishments and dedication to their students and the teaching profession.

Corsale

This year’s recipients include Jessica Young, Chaminade College Preparatory; Karen Rosewell, Living Water Academy; Lindsay Corsale, Mason Ridge Elementary, Ryun Deckert, Northeast Middle; Trish Ottens, Valley Park High; Cathy Farrar, Marquette High; Alexandra Forgerson, Rockwood South Middle; John Hartmann, Ellisville Elementary; Tracy Wolz, Special School District of St. Louis; and also from the Special School District, Jennifer Balong, Crestview Middle and Faith Rose, Eureka High.

The Excellence in Teaching Awards program began in St. Louis in 1989 and is sponsored annually by Emerson, the St. Louis-headquartered global technology and engineering company.

Deckert

Excellence in Teaching Award recipients, who teach students in kindergarten through grade 12, have the opportunity to apply for a Gold Star Grant from Emerson. These competitive grants fund educational projects that reflect the key pillars of Emerson’s identity – technology, innovation and leadership.
