Katherine Park has been named interim director of health services for Parkway Schools, effective March 1. Park has served Parkway for the past 17 years, currently serving as the school nurse at Pierremont Elementary. Previously she worked at McKelvey and Oak Brook elementary schools during her time in Parkway.
Park is respected as a leader in school health services across the state and country. She was named the 2020 Missouri School Nurse of the Year by the Missouri Association of School Nurses. In 2018, she earned the association’s Outstanding Service award and, in 2014, the St. Louis Magazine award for Excellence in Nursing.
Park’s vast service and dedication to the Parkway community were recognized with a Pillar of Parkway award in 2016.
She holds a master’s degree in nursing, public and school health from the University of Missouri; a bachelor of science in nursing from Saint Louis University; and is currently working to complete her doctorate in nursing practice and leadership at the University of Missouri.
Park replaces Dr. Robin Wallin, who is moving out of state.
