The blood drive will be held in conference rooms 4, 5 and 6 of the North/South Medical Building. All eligible donors are invited to participate in the blood drive. However, appointments are required to help maintain social distancing.
The entire donation process can take 45 minutes to an hour, with the actual donation approximately 10 minutes.
As part of MVRBC’s current donor promotion, all registered donors will receive a voucher for a pair of blood donor socks or a $5 gift card.
COVID-19 safety precautions
All staff and donors are required to wear a face covering while participating in a blood drive. Paper masks will be provided for those who arrive without their own mask or facial covering.
Donors are required to maintain social distancing. Staff have added space between chairs in screening areas and in the post-donation refreshment area. Between donations, staff wipe down chairs and surfaces to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
Donors may not give blood if they are experiencing any symptoms of a COVID-19 infection or have in the last 14 days been within 6 feet of someone who has the virus or is being tested for the virus for greater than 15 minutes without use of personal protective equipment.
Donors will be screened for symptoms of illness. Body temperature, heart rate, blood pressure and hemoglobin level all will be checked, and the donor must complete a pre-donation Donor History Questionnaire)
