The Monarch Fire Protection District’s board of directors approved Jim McKay to succeed Roger Herin as fire marshal, effective May 1. McKay has been a member of the Monarch Fire Prevention Bureau for over 21 years. His duties will include management of the Fire Prevention Bureau, administration and enforcement of the Monarch Fire Prevention Code, public education, fire investigation and serving as a public information officer. Herin retired April 30.


Jobs for America’s Graduates-Missouri recently received multiple contributions totaling more than $100,000, including $30,000 from Regions Bank of St. Louis, which has made contributions since 2014. Jobs for America’s Graduates is a 40-year-old national nonprofit organization that has helped more than 1.5 million students reach their full potential by ensuring they graduate from high school and are successful at the career of their choosing, despite significant academic, economic and social challenges.
