Students at Fern Ridge High in Parkway are actively engaged in configuring and coding computers – that is, assembling a computer system and writing instructions that tell it what to do next. The activity is supported by the Rotary Club of Des Peres.

Lemonade Bonanza raises money for inclusive playground equipment at Highcroft Ridge

Nine friends are working toward inclusion on their school playground – one glass of lemonade at a time. These Highcroft Ridge Elementary second-graders want to upgrade their handicapped-accessible playground to be a truly inclusive one that will allow students with varying degrees of physical limitations to play during recess. Currently, the playground is adapted for kids in wheelchairs, but it does not have any ADA-approved equipment, such as swings, where children with disabilities can participate with other students.
