Teaching excellence in science recognition

Marquette High computer science teacher Elizabeth Dierker won an award in the Computer Science Teachers Association [CSTA] Teaching Excellence competition. Dierker is among five teachers nationwide who won honorable mention in the competition. It includes a cash prize and free registration to the CSTA conference, which is being held online this year.

Perfect ACTs continue for Parkway, Rockwood students

Area students continue to buck the national trend of perfect ACT scores. Senior Matthew Christofferson, Parkway South High; Freshman Alan Song, Parkway West High; and Marquette High juniors Rincon Jagarlamudi and William Millsaps all achieved perfect scores earlier this year.

Science whiz heads to nationals

Crestview Middle sixth grader Suchir Ryali won the first-place championship award at the Regional Science Bee conducted by International Academic Competitions. He will move on to the National Championship Finals in December 2020.

Crestview Middle seventh-grader Mary Hails and sixth-grader Rohan Deshpande recently competed in the National History Day in Missouri contest. Deshpande earned first place and Hails placed third in the documentary category.
