The Eureka Food Pantry shelves are too deep, so boxes of supplies can get stuck at the back in hard-to-reach places. Eureka High teacher Bill Edwards and his Geometry in Construction [GIC] students seized an opportunity to help out.

The Rockwood Drug-Free Coalition will host a Medical Marijuana Education Night from 7-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12 in the theater at Lafayette High, 17050 Clayton Road in Wildwood.

The annual Eye Level Literary Award topic was “If I could change one thing in the world…” and two Chesterfield residents were recognized as two of the 10 overall gold, silver and bronze winners.

Opening Knight Productions will perform “Once Upon a Tower” at 7 p.m. on Nov. 21-22 at Rockwood Valley Elementary, 1220 Babler Park Drive in Wildwood. Admission to the play is free; however, donations to offset the cost of production will be accepted.

There’s just one week to go before the postseason begins for area teams. There are several solid matchups this week highlighted by the Marquette Mustangs meeting the Eureka Wildcats in a Suburban West Conference American Division game. The teams meet Friday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. in Eureka.

This year, a group of Geometry in Construction students at Rockwood’s Individualized Learning Center are partnering with the Eureka Chamber of Commerce to lend a hand in the chamber’s annual Eureka Scarecrow Festival.

The 2019 Rockwood School District fine arts integration cohort seeks to incorporate the arts into the core curriculum in ways that enhance and augment the students’ learning.

There was no summer break for Rockwood facilities employees as they completed summer tasks, preparing the 30 elementary, middle and high schools to welcome students back this past August.

Online registration for the 10th Annual St. Louis Teen Talent Competition began Sept. 1 and runs through Dec.1. This bi-state competition showcases the talents of St. Louis metropolitan-area high school students and culminates at the final round on the stage of The Fabulous Fox Theatre on Saturday, April 4, 2020.

Brian Reed, Rockwood School District coordinator for STEM and digital learning, recently joined the ranks of the approximately 300 teachers worldwide to earn certification from the International Society for Technology in Education [ISTE].
