Eureka advances to sectional after winning first boys district basketball title since 2013

Eureka coach Austin Kirby has been on a district champion basketball team as a player and now as a head coach. Kirby’s Wildcats defeated Parkway South 63-46 to win the Class 5 District 3 championship at Lafayette. Coach Justin Tatum’s CBC Cadets have achieved some important milestones this season. He wants to keep it going. The Cadets basketball team recorded an undefeated season for the first time in the Metro Catholic Conference. It was CBC’s first outright league title since 2005 although it did share a championship with Chaminade in 2014. The CBC Cadets won the Class 5 District 4 championship with a win over De Smet. The Parkway Central girls earned their first district basketball title since 2013 and move into the sectional round. The Colts will face the Marquette Mustangs at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday at Lindenwood University.
