MICDS names Hall of Fame member Bouchard as new football coach for Rams

Once a coach, always a coach for Fred Bouchard. Bouchard is currently assistant superintendent for the Decatur Public Schools. He will trade in his suit and tie for a whistle and more appropriate coaching gear of a T-shirt and shorts on the practice field. Fred Bouchard is the new football coach at MICDS. Parkway Central’s Goldenberg enjoys seeing Saunders succeed with Kansas City Chiefs

Parkway Central football coach Mark Goldenberg enjoyed this year’s Super Bowl more than normal. Khalen Saunders, a 2014 Parkway Central graduate, was a rookie defensive lineman for the Kansas City Chiefs playing in Super Bowl LIV. Now, he’s a Super Bowl champion after the Chiefs won 31-20 over the San Francisco 49ers in Miami, Florida. It was the first Super Bowl title for the Chiefs in 50 years. Local high school football players sign college letters of intent

Several area high school football players signed their national letters of intent to play in college. Wednesday marked the first day senior football players could sign binding letters of intent with NCAA Division I programs. The early period runs through Friday. The regular signing period begins Feb. 8 and goes to April.
