  There would be no disappointment or heartbreak this time around in the quarterfinals for the Westminster Wildcats. Westminster wide receivers Zach Hughes, Dyllan Conway, and running back Steve Webb made sure the Wildcats would not be bumped from the Class 4 playoffs in their third straight trip to the quarterfinal round.   It appeared CBC the football Cadets had all it could handle in the first 24 minutes of play as a physical, hard-nosed Kickapoo Chiefs squad hit CBC in the mouth hard and early. Kickapoo matched CBC’s intensity and focus in an action-packed first half as the teams battled to a 14-14 draw. Westminster Christian Academy will try to tame Lions in Class 4 semifinal football game

The undefeated Westminster Christian Academy Wildcats are back in the Class 4 semifinals. Last year, Westminster was stopped from advancing further by St. Charles West. To reach the semifinals this fall, the Wildcats (12-0) must defeat the University City Lions (7-5). Chaminade will honor late teacher with his initials on helmets for rest of football season

Football can do more than provide competition for its athletes. It can also be a rallying point to lift spirits. Westminster dismantles Borgia for district championship

Three weeks ago the Westminster Christian Academy Wildcats had to overcome four turnovers to defeat the Borgia Knights. On Saturday, the host Wildcats came out dialed in and never gave Borgia even a puncher’s chance. Westminster scored on its first seven possessions to lead 49-7 and  in the process, rolled to an impressive 63-14 victory over the Knights to claim the Class 4, District 4 championship on Saturday. The way Parkway West coach Jeff Duncan sees it, his Longhorns are playing with house money. The Longhorns (6-5) have reached the Class 5 District 3 championship game with upset road victories over Fort Zumwalt South and Parkway North. Week 12 of high school football — district championships are on the line

It’s Week 12 for high school football and several area teams remain alive in the “second season.” CBC, Eureka and Westminster Christian Academy all remain unbeaten. This week, district championships will be decided. There are just three weeks left in the season after this weekend.  Next week will feature quarterfinal action. Everyone wants to be playing in that final weekend after Thanksgiving at the Edward Jones Dome for a state championship. Westminster Christian Academy, Priory to have rematch in Class 4 football playoffs

Westminster Christian Academy is undefeated and already owns a victory this season over the Priory Rebels but Wildcats coach Cory Snyder is anything but comfortable about the game. The two Metro League teams play in the second round of the Class 4 playoffs at 1 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 31). Earlier this fall, Westminster (10-0) won 49-21 on Sept. 26 at Priory (4-6). Fresh off a bye week, Chaminade returns to play in postseason football action

The Chaminade Red Devils had last week off but they did not take a vacation from football. The Red Devils (8-1) were the top seed in Class 5 District 2. With the way Class 5 is configured in the state, each district’s No. 1 seed received a bye.
