Parkway North is ready for homecoming, Parkway Central and first win of season

They say in rivalry games you can throw out the records. Parkway North coach Karl Odenwald is in favor of that. His Vikings are off to an 0-4 start. This Friday, Parkway North will entertain winless Parkway Central (0-4) in a 7 p.m. game. Parkway Central seeks first football win of the season

Parkway Central football coach Mark Goldenberg is not one to live in the past. What happened then has no bearing on what’s going on now. The Colts are are off to an 0-4 start. In his first season with the program in 2003, Parkway Central started 0-5. “None of that has any bearing on us,” Goldenberg said. “It’s a completely different past. New Marquette, Parkway North head coaches set to make their debuts in football season opener

Marquette’s Michael Stewart and Parkway North’s Karl Odenwald make their head-coaching debuts Friday and it will be against each other. The Parkway North Vikings play against the Mustangs at Marquette in a 7 p.m. game. “It’s exciting to host your very first game as a head coach,” said Stewart, who was the defensive coordinator before he became the head coach at Marquette. “I know the fans and the community.
