Berkmeyer set to play in his 30th United States Golf Association tournament, will be competing in his 10th U.S. Amateur

Skip Berkmeyer is about to hit a milestone in his golfing career. Berkmeyer, 44, of Town and Country, will be playing in his 30th United States Golf Association tournament. Berkmeyer advanced to the U.S. Amateur. The tournament begins Monday (Aug. 13) and runs through Aug. 19 in Pebble Beach, Calif. It will be his 10th appearance in the top amateur championship in the nation. Berkmeyer tees off at 12:19 p.m. CDT Monday on No. 1 at Pebble Beach. Port reaches match play in 118th U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship

Ellen Port earned a berth in match play in the 118th U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship. Port, who is the oldest person in the tournament, will play Dylan Kim at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 8). This should be an interesting encounter for the 56-year-old Port, who is believed to be the second-oldest player to make match play in U.S. Women’s Amateur history. Pranger wins his second Metropolitan Amateur Championship

Drew Pranger achieved what only three others have done before him in winning his second Metropolitan Amateur Championship and having his name go on the Jim Tom Blair Trophy a second time. Pranger joins Don Bliss, David Estes and Kyle Weldon as multiple time winners of the Amateur. Pranger won with a 2-under three-day score of 211. He had rounds of 70, 70 and 71. Port set to play in the U.S. Women’s Amateur for her 17th appearance in the tournament

Ellen Port will tee it up in the nation’s top women’s amateur golf tournament. The U.S. Women’s Amateur begins Monday (Aug. 6) and it will be played at The Golf Club of Tennessee in Kingston Springs, Tenn. This is the 118th annual event. There is still a chance to purchase some tickets for upcoming 100th PGA Championship. The PGA of America officials announced Wednesday that there will be no walk-up ticket sales during the 100th PGA Championship at Bellerive Country Club. The tournament week begins Monday (Aug. 6) and runs through Aug. 12. Officials said a few single-day tickets remain for Monday through Thursday of the Championship.
