Lafayette, Marquette enter boys golf district tournament tested and ready to tee it up

Lafayette’s boys golf team enters Class 4 District 3 play about as hot as any team can be. District action begins at 9 a.m. Tuesday (May 5) at Wolf Hollow Golf Club in Washington. The district teams are CBC, De Smet, Eureka, Lafayette, Marquette, Parkway Central, Parkway North, Parkway South, Parkway West and Washington. Berkmeyer and partner advance to match play in first USGA Four-Ball Championship

Skip Berkmeyer and Brad Nurski qualified Sunday (May 3) for match play in the first U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship. Berkmeyer, of Town and Country, and his partner from St. Joseph, shot a two-day total of 137 in stroke play at the The Olympic Club (Lake Course) in San Francisco. The pair will compete at 1 p.m. CDT Monday against the duo of Jason Higton and Ryan Higton, of Fresno, Calif. The Higton brothers shot a 136. Experienced Whitfield set to tee it up for boys district golf action

When postseason rolls around, the Whitfield Warriors know what to do. The Warriors will begin play in Class 2 District 2 action at 9 a.m. Monday (May 4) at Bear Creek Golf Club in Wentzville. Teams in the district are Grandview, Herculaneum, Kennedy, Lutheran St.Charles, Orchard Farm, Principia, St. Pius X, Trinity, Valley Park, Whitfield, and Winfield. The Chaminade Red Devils tee it up at 8:30 a.m. Monday (May 4) in Class 4 District 2 play. The district will be played at Crystal Springs Quarry Golf Club in St. Louis County. The district teams are Chaminade, Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood East, Hazelwood West, Kirkwood, Ladue, McCluer, McCluer North, Ritenour, St. Louis University High and Webster Groves. Lafayette’s Eaton captures 2nd medalist honor this season; Lancers win second tournament

Lafayette senior Dillon Eaton earned his second medalist honor of the season when he won the recent Bulldog Battle at WingHaven. Eaton shot a 2-under par 70 to finish first in the high school boys golf tournament hosted by Fort Zumwalt South. Lafayette also won the team title. The Lancers finished with a team score of 307.
