Marquette looking to young Mustangs to play well at Class 4 state boys golf tournament

Marquette returns to the Class 4 state golf tournament as a team and the Mustangs are looking to make it a good trip across the state. The Mustangs advanced to play at state tournament by finishing second in the recent Class 4 Sectional 2 meet played at Forest Hills Country Club. Marquette joins Chaminade along with Jackson, Jefferson City, Kansas City Rockhurst, Liberty, Rock Bridge and Springfield Glendale as teams competing at state. Chaminade ready for play in Class 4 state tournament for fifth time in last six years

The Chaminade Red Devils are set to play in their third consecutive state golf tournament. The Red Devils, under coach Jack Wilson, have finished third in the past two years behind Springfield Glendale and Kansas City Rockhurst in the Class 4 state tournament. Priory heads into Class 3 state boys golf tourney fresh off winning sectional

The Priory Rebels boys golf team is getting what it wanted — a chance to compete in the state tournament. The Rebels begin play Monday (May 14) in the Class 3 state golf tournament. This will be the 79th year for the Missouri State High School Activities Association boys golf championships. The Class 3 state meet will be played at Old Kinderhook Golf Course in Camdenton. Priory wins sectional golf tourney, Marquette, Chaminade qualify as teams for state

Priory, Marquette, and Chaminade all have qualified their teams for the Class 3 and Class 4 state golf tournaments. The Priory Rebels won the Class 3 District 2 sectional tournament. Marquette finished second in the Class 4 Sectional 2 meet. The Chaminade Red Devils came in second in the Class 4 Sectional 1 tourney. Old Warson Cup begins Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association’s tournament season

It’s time to tee it up as the Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association’s tournament season begins Saturday and Sunday (May 5-6) with The Old Warson Cup. Old Warson Country Club is the permanent home to the Association’s match play championship and the name was changed to “The Old Warson Cup” in 2013. High school boys district golf results

Area teams and individuals did well in Monday’s high school boys’ district golf tournaments. The top two teams in each district and the top 15 individuals not on those two teams qualified to compete the upcoming sectional tournaments, which will be held Monday (May 9). Marquette won Class 4 District 3 with a team score of 322. Lafayette was second at 328. Lafayette’s Max Kreikemeier was medalist with a 72 at The Landings at Spirit Golf Club in Chesterfield. Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association will conduct 10 USGA qualifying rounds in 2018

The Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association will conduct on behalf of the United States Golf Association 10 qualifying rounds in 2018. The USGA will conduct 14 national championships in 2018 with the addition of the U.S. Senior Women’s Open in July. Leading off in 2018, Old Warson Country Club will host the Local stage of U.S. Open qualifying this Saturday. This is 18 holes of competition where players advance on to the Sectional stage of qualifying. The U.S. Open is the only USGA championship that requires two stages of qualifying.
