CBC is back playing for the Midstates Club Hockey Association’s Challenge Cup championship

They’re baaaaack. Of course that catchphrase originally was squealed by the little girl played by the late Heather O’Rourke in the 1986 movie “Poltergeist II” about evil spirits invading a suburban home. Who is back now is the CBC Cadets hockey team. The Cadets are back in the Challenge Cup championship game. The Cadets play in the Midstates Club Hockey Association’s top tournament game, one the program has won a record 16 times. Parkway South wins Founders Cup championship in the Midstates Club Hockey Assocation tournament

The Parkway South Patriots are Founders Cup champions. The Patriots defeated the Eureka Wildcats 7-3 in the recent championship game at the Queeny Recreational Complex. The Patriots finished 7-15-3. The Wildcats, the reigning Founders Cup champions, wound up 7-16-3. The Parkway South Patriots won the Founders Cup championship. The Patriots defeated Eureka 7-3 to claim the title of the Midstates Club Hockey Association’s tournament. CBC healthy and ready for Challenge Cup semifinal series against Kirkwood

The top-seeded CBC Cadets have just one loss this season and that team is their opponent in the Midstates Club Hockey Association’s Challenge Cup semifinals. The Cadets (25-1) carry a 14-game winning streak into the Challenge Cup semifinals. The lone loss came to the Kirkwood Pioneers back on Dec. 21. CBC had scored a 2-1 win over Kirkwood on Nov. 15. Lafayette reaches Challenge Cup semifinals, faces Vianney

Reaching the Challenge Cup Final Four for the first since 1987-88, the Lafayette Lancers don’t aim to stop. Lafayette, 13-10-3 and the reigning Wickenheiser Cup champion, meets Vianney (18-7-1) at 8:20 p.m. Saturday and Game 2 is set for 7 p.m. on Feb. 29. Both games will be played Centene Ice Center. Westminster faces top-seeded Oakville in Wickenheiser Cup semifinal

Westminster Christian Academy begins semifinal play in the Wickenheiser Cup against an opponent the Wildcats have not played this season. Game 1 against the Oakville Tigers is set for 9 p.m. Friday.
