Lafayette boys track and field team is having a spring season to remember

The Lafayette Lancers high school boys track teams heads into the Brusca/Stohbach Invitational at Ladue on a roll. The meet begins at 9 a.m. Saturday (April 25). The Lancers captured the recent 40th annual Henle Holmes Invitational at Parkway Central for the fifth consecutive spring. Earlier this season, Lafayette has shown it ranks among the best teams in the area. The Lancers were fourth out of 32 team at the Festus meet in late March. Parkway Central Invitational Classic features area’s top boys volleyball teams

 The Parkway Central Invitational Classic features 16 teams and Colts coach Tom Schaefer it’s anyone’s best guess who can win it. “We have a lot of strong teams in the tourney,” Schaefer said. “SLUH, De Smet, Lindbergh, Lafayette and Marquette to name a few. Westminster Christian Academy announces upgrade project for facilities

Westminster Christian Academy will be improving his already top-notch athletic facilities. The school has announced the launch of its Athletic Program Upgrade Project. Parkway Central, Parkway North boys volleyball teams win divisions in tournament

The Parkway Central Colts and the Parkway North Vikings have started off the high school boys volleyball season winning their divisions in the first big tournament of the spring. The reigning Class 3 state champion and new-look Parkway Central Colts won the Silver Bracket of the St. Louis Boys Volleyball Classic that was held at Francis Howell Central High in Cottleville. The Colts bested Fort Zumwalt West 22-25, 25-22, 25-18 for the title. In the Copper Bracket games that were played at De Smet, Parkway North won the championship. 2015 high school boys lacrosse preview

MICDS is the defending Division I state champions in high school boys lacrosse and the Rams should be strong again this spring as they begin their quest to repeat. The Rams scored an 11-10 victory in the title game last year over the defending champion CBC Cadets. Senior Will Cella scored the game-winning goal and he is one of seven returning starters this season for the Rams, who have four players already committed to big-time lacrosse universities. The high school girls lacrosse season is under way and teams all have the same goal — go deep in the postseason and try to become the state champion. Lafayette reached the Elite Eight last year before falling in double overtime. Coach Carrie Guenzler-Heaney is starting her fourth season with the Lancers and she has five starters back this spring.
