CBC sends seven Cadets to state in effort to win third consecutive Class 4 wrestling crown

The CBC Cadets will try to make it three consecutive state Class 4 state championships. “We’re as ready to go as we can be,” coach Cornell Robinson said. “We’re laid back. It’s another tournament, man. It’s fun and we’re going to have fun.” CBC won the Class 4 District 1 wrestling championship. The Cadets are sending seven wrestlers to the state meet. Whitfield ready for last hurrah in Class 1 state wrestling, Warriors seek fourth consecutive state title

Whitfield coach Charlie Sherertz and his Warriors wrestling team will try to make it four consecutive state wrestling championships as the team will be making its swansong in Class 1. Whitfield’s wrestling program has eight state titles. Whitfield has won state crowns in 2019, 2018, 2017, 2015, 2013, 2012, 2008, 2007. Second-place finishes came in 2007, 2011, 2014 and 2016. Area boys and girls qualify to compete in state wrestling meet

The 90th boys and second girls state wrestling championships are set to begin at three-day run Thursday at the Mizzou Arena in Columbia. Ticket cost $9 per session. All guests age 6 and older require ticket. There are four sessions scheduled. Class 1 and 2 boys first-round matches along with girls first-round matches and Class 3 and 4 boys first-round matches are set for Thursday. Quarterfinals and wrestlebacks are scheduled for Friday. Local swimmers, divers qualify for Missouri state swim meet

The 2020 Girls Swimming & Diving Championship begins it’s three-day run Thursday at the Rec-Plex in St. Peters. The meet consists of six sessions: Swimming Prelims, Diving, and Swimming Finals, for both Class 1 and Class 2. All guests age 6 and older require ticket. Tickets are $8 per session and will be available on site. The lineup for the meet is Class 1 swimmers and diving competing all day Thursday and Friday morning. Marquette sets two school records in winning sixth consecutive conference swim meet

The Marquette Mustangs maintained their dominance at the Suburban Conference Yellow Pool girls swim meet. The Mustangs, who are the reigning Class 2 state champions, recorded 441 points in the meet at Kirkwood. That earned Marquette its sixth consecutive conference championship. Parkway West’s Slutzky wins two championships in racquetball doubles tournament

Parkway West senior Erin Slutzky finished in first place in the recent Missouri State High School Racquetball’s Doubles Tournament. “It was definitely a good last doubles tournament for my senior year,” Slutzky said. “I’m also looking forward to playing doubles at high school nationals now, too.” Slutzky and Callie Hummel, a senior at Parkway West won the varsity competition with a 15-6 over Bella Bertarelli and Grace Maloney, of Lindbergh duo.
