Undefeated Marquette hosts Lindbergh in conference football game

Remember the year 2000? That was the last year the Marquette Mustangs started the season undefeated after four games. The Marquette Mustangs are off to a 4-0 start. Marquette entertains Lindbergh at 7 p.m. Friday as the Mustangs try to reach 5-0 this season.  That year, the Mustangs lost their fifth game to Kirkwood. Coach Michael Stewart, in his first at the helm of the Mustangs, doesn’t want history to repeat itself. Marquette has a home game Friday with Lindbergh. Parkway West puts undefeated record on line with football game at Summit

With a talented group of seniors to lead the way, the Parkway West Longhorns are off to an undefeated start this season. The squad is 4-0 heading into Friday’s game at Summit.  Kickoff is at 7 p.m. The Falcons are 3-1. The enter the game against the Longhorns after dropped a 27-13 decision last week at home to Kirkwood.  Summit defeated Parkway West 17-14 last season. Parkway North is ready for homecoming, Parkway Central and first win of season

They say in rivalry games you can throw out the records. Parkway North coach Karl Odenwald is in favor of that. His Vikings are off to an 0-4 start. This Friday, Parkway North will entertain winless Parkway Central (0-4) in a 7 p.m. game. Parkway Central seeks first football win of the season

Parkway Central football coach Mark Goldenberg is not one to live in the past. What happened then has no bearing on what’s going on now. The Colts are are off to an 0-4 start. In his first season with the program in 2003, Parkway Central started 0-5. “None of that has any bearing on us,” Goldenberg said. “It’s a completely different past. Lafayette gets chance to avenge loss with girls volleyball match against Cor Jesu

The Lafayette Lancers will have a chance to play the team that gave them a loss this season. The Lancers will hit the road and play Cor Jesu against the Chargers at 6 p.m. Tuesday. “Any time you play a top team in the area, it’s exciting,” Lafayette coach Zach Young said. “You hope you can bring your ‘A’ game and play with grit. St. Joseph’s Academy girls golf team sets two state records in tournament wins

St. Joseph’s Academy girls golf team set a state record with their team score in the MO/IL River Challenge on Saturday. So what did the Angels do for an encore? The girls simply set another state record. In the MO/IL River Challenge played at Quail Creek Golf Club, the Angels shot a team score of 291. Fresh off softball tournament championship, Eureka faces two tough home games

The Eureka Wildcats look to build on a tournament championship this week. The Wildcats (10-5-1) are back in action with two home games this week after beating Holt 6-5 to win the Suburban Showdown. Eureka will host Kirkwood at 4:30 p.m. Monday (Sept. 23) and then have a Suburban Conference Yellow Pool game at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday against always tough Parkway South.
