MICDS happy to spend spring break playing in Class 4 girls basketball Final Final

It’s spring break week at MICDS and the girls basketball team are excited about their destination. No, it’s not Florida, Texas or Mexico. Instead, the Rams are headed to Columbia. Parkway North withstands Hardestys big night to claim first state berth

      Sophomore guard Kyra Hardesty almost singlehandedly shot and scored the Washington girls basketball team past Parkway North. Almost but not quite. Hardesty was the star on this night but the Vikings found a way to move on and earn the first state semifinal trip in club history. Parkway North pulled away late for a 64-53 victory in a Class 5 quarterfinal at Lindenwood Uiversity Saturday despite an amazing game-high 38 points by Hardesty. Parkway North girls are one game away from first trip to state girls Class 5 basketball Final Four

There is a streak that coach Brett Katz and the Parkway North Vikings want to shatter and they want to break it now. Westminster Christian Academy returns to boys basketball quarterfinals

The Westminster Christian Academy Wildcats have ended a long Class 4 quarterfinal drought in high school boys basketball. The Wildcats (25-4) whipped Lutheran South 67-48 in the Class 4 boys basketball sectional at Kirkwood to advance to the quarterfinals. MICDS ready for first appearance in Class 4 girls basketball quarterfinals

The MICDS Rams are in the state high school girls basketball quarterfinals for the first time in school history. Coach Scott Small said he is while it is a big step for the program, his Rams are not content to rest yet. MICDS (24-2) defeated St. Louis Notre Dame 74-47 in the sectional to advance to the Class 4 quarterfinals. Chaminade to play Lafayette in battle of top area boys teams in sectional basketball

Chaminade coach Frank Bennett knows his Red Devils have a tough game in front of them playing Lafayette. Chaminade (22-3) now faces the Lancers (24-3) in a Class 5 sectional game at 6 p.m. Wednesday (March 11) at Lindenwood University. “They are a very good team,” Bennett said. “They are possibly (the most) underrated in the local area.” Chaminade is ranked No. 1 in the state by the by Missouri Basketball Coaches Association.
