Priory starter Christian Witt was on point and the Rebels bats came up with timely hits and run support as the Rebels finished the 2015 regular season on the right note by notching a 4-0 victory over Metro League foe Lutheran North Tuesday at Lutheran North. Defending state champion Parkway West dives back into the water Wednesday (May 13) in the high school boys water polo quarterfinals with a streak on the line. All four games will be played at the Rec-Plex beginning at 5 p.m. when No. 2 Lindbergh plays No. 7 Marquette. At 6:15, No. 3 Lafayette meets No. 11 Chaminade. Seeds, district sites set for high school boys volleyball postseason play

Defending Class 3 high school boys volleyball champion Parkway Central Colts are the No. 2 overall seed heading into district play. Districts begin Friday (May 15) at 4:15 p.m. and at 9 a.m. Saturday (May 16). Teams play a best two out of three with the third game to 15 points. Class 3 and Class 4 each have four districts. Priory, Westminster Christian Academy looking forward to competing in boys golf Sectional 3

At this time of the high school boys golf season, it’s all about surviving and advancing. Priory and Westminster Christian Academy accomplished that task by getting out of the Class 3 District 3 tournament at Aberdeen Golf Club. MICDS won the district with a team score of 306 to top Priory’s 309 scored. The top two teams along with 15 individuals not on those teams advance to the sectional. Marquette qualifies five Mustangs for the boys golf Sectional 2 tournament

It may not have been the ideal way to qualify for the sectional but Marquette boys golf coach Eric Schweain will take it. Marquette finished third in the Class 4 District 3 tournament at Wolf Hollow with a 315 team score. The top two teams (De Smet and Lafayette) advanced out of the district to play in the Sectional 2 tournament Monday (May 11) at Forest Hills Country Club. De Smet, Lafayette, CBC to compete in boys golf Class 4 Sectional 2

De Smet has a new golf coach this spring in Dan Likos but the results in district golf competition are the same. The Spartans won Class 4 District 3 at Wolf Hollow with a team score of 303. It was De Smet’s second best score this spring. The Spartans shot a 298 in a tournament at A.L Gustin in Columbia.
