Metropolitan Amateur Championship has large field playing for the area’s big title

The Metropolitan Amateur Championship is the area’s top amateur tournament and a field of 98 players will compete for the title. The 29th edition of the tournament will be played at Aberdeen Golf Club in Eureka. Tyler Linenbroker begins play in the Boys Junior PGA Championship. Tyler Linenbroker begins play this week in the Boys Junior PGA Championship. He will be a junior this fall at Marquette. Ellen Port will be part of Team Missouri in the Fore State Team Championship. Ellen Port will be playing with Team Missouri in the annual women’s Fore State Team Championship. Port, 57, of St. Louis, long has been on of the top women amateur players in the region. She claimed the 2016 U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur Championship title and she also won it in 2012 and 2013 . Berkmeyer qualifies to play in U.S. Amateur at Pinehurst Resort
